Week 8th | Family Day and Employment Struggles | Feb 15 - 21st, 2025

It's crazy how time flies by. It has been exactly two weeks when I first started my new job. Here is a recap of the week:

 Feb 17 - 21:

  • Feb 17th was Fmaily day! Although I didn't do much, I was super shocked when I checked my book sales dashboard and noticed that I sold over 20 copies (over $200 in sales) for my first book—this was definitely a milestone for me. That said, something I learned when starting my business is that consistency and mindset was key. Without the two, I believe I would've given up a long time ago. That said, when running a business, it is also important to take breaks as well—you don't want to burnt out. So? Something that I did for fun was playing video games, specifically on the Switch, grabbing myself a copy of Valkyria Chronicles 4 (highly recommend it if you enjoy tactical games) during the sale.
  • It was the second week of work and I am starting to struggle with tiredness again, having to wake up early to catch the bus (this was a constant struggle). My anxiety also got a lot worse lately as well, making me want to puke (due to morning phlegm) in the morning—on days like these I felt miserable. That said, after encountering a huge snow storm back to back over the weekend, I was almost late to work, as it was either my first or second bus that always ran late. Not to mention, bus drivers ignoring and rushing past me when they see me.
  • Work was getting more intense. There was a lot more system and processes to remember, trying to remember it all was another factor that was making me anxious. Not to mention, the ADHD inside of me was making me distracted by the loud workplace environment, causing me to zone out to the music playing the background instead. That being said, my notebook is filled to the brim with my horrendous writing.
  • One of the best parts of the week is catching up on DONDI—wild how Dr. Will has left the game.
  • My brother informed me he bumped into one of my childhood friends while attending to work. He gave me an update on their life letting me know that they are engaged and are planning to get married this year, as well as how life was like becoming a homeowner—I was super happy for them, as it was great to know they were doing well having their life in place. This reminded me of my goals and what I wanted to achieve this year—establishing a thriving business and hopefully being able to emigrate to the UK one day (I know random, but I've always wanted to live in England).
  • Caught up on Traitors US, super sad Carolyn was banished—she was definitely one of the best players of the season.
  • Friday was horrible. Woke up in the morning and I thought my anxiety was in check, but as I left the house my anxiety was going through the roof! It was definitely hard especially when I was on the bus since I wanted to puke my guts out (again, due to my morning phlegm). That said, something that helped me with my anxiety was definitely blasting my music in the morning listening to old tracks like Taylor Swift's Fearless. Overall, the work day was fine, but I am nervous as I am officially starting my tasks next week. There were multiple occasions during the day when I felt like zoning out. Coming home work though was a struggle—my bus was delayed causing a wave of people pushing and shoving just to get on the bus. I arrived home later than usual—close to 7pm. While I was heading home, I'll never forget that I came across a bright, shiny star shining in my face—of course I had to make a wish.
  • Nevertheless, I am glad it was finally the weekend. I am excited to watch Gabby Petito's case (I am not really a true crime fan, but the case intrigued me), read Mel's latest book, The Let Them Theory, and of course grind away at my business.
