Week 10 - 11th | Book release, spring season, wedding invitations | March 17th - 30th
Not too long ago it felt like March had just begun. In a blink of an eye, March is already ending and these past couple of weeks have been hectic to say the least.
mar 17 - 30:
- Received my WEPP payment. Made a call to the EI rep to declare what I have received. Confusion starts to swirl inside of me when the EI rep has let me know that I didn't have to repay back any of the benefits, when in fact, I should be.
- Released my 3rd book that is about personal finance. And surprisingly, the book has been released within a few hours. Ran a free book promotion and only a few copies of the book have been sold. That said, this month my book sales have reached a record high of 24 sales, which I am still proud of.
- Went back to the shady dress tailor shop. Tried on the Indian dress and it fitted perfectly, but sadly my bridesmaid's dress was still loose at the top. It was also a little embarrassing as the lady kept letting me know that I was skinny 😅 in front of my sister's friends. That said, I have to head back within a week to pick up the dress.
- Work is starting to get a little busy, which is good as I feel like time is passing by faster. Also, as the weather starts to change sickness is creeping upon the people within the team. Because of this, the office has been a little quiet lately since more people have been working from home. Personally, I enjoy a quiet office as I am able to concentrate more on my work.
- Watched the finale of Deal and No Deal Island and I was on the edge of my seat as David was facing the banker. Overall, the end of the season was entertaining and the jury portion was also interesting to see as it could affect the outcome of the game.
- Today is the day, a very large company (won't be naming the company) visits us at work. It was a jam packed day as I had back to back meetings—I met the CEO of the company and we had a nice chat about our hobbies. Not to mention, the office was packed with lots of people. Being anti-social and anxious, I stayed at my desk. Near the end of the day, as the company was leaving, we took a company photo. I was excited to head home, as it was Survivor night, and the moment between Eva and Joe was very emotional.
- I was very nervous to make my first phone call at work. However, in the end, the client didn't pick up and I made an embarrassing mistake of not leaving a voice mail after the beep. When I headed home, I was greeted with a large package filled with court documentation from my previous company about their bankruptcy process. Ended off the night listening to one of my favorite podcasts, PAL (if you know, you know).
- Finally completed my taxes and submitted it via NETFILE. If you haven't filed your taxes yet, then I recommend StudioTax software (paid if income is over > $20,000) or WealthsimpleTax (free). Keep in mind, taxes are due by April 30th, 2025.
- As my sister is getting married in two months, my parents are visiting her fiance's parents over the weekend to exchange wedding invitations (part of a tradition) as well as heading out for some lunch to get to know each other as in laws.
