December:
- The work life in the office was getting quiet — a lot of people around Toronto were getting sick with the flu. Please stay healthy and safe everyone! That said, even though the office was quiet, the work load was getting busy since people on my team took time off. At times it was overwhelming, at times it was getting stressful and at times I felt lonely. Nevertheless, I am grateful for work.
- Feeling bittersweet that the seasons of reality TV shows are coming to an end. Reality TV shows like Survivor, Traitors CAD, The Amazing Race, etc. were a way for me to relax, decompress, and escape from my own chaotic reality. That said, I am excited for Traitors US which is set to premiere on Peacock on January 8th, 2026.
- Super excited and happy for my brother since he has finally purchased his first car (he always wanted his own car since university)—Toyota Corella.
- Things I watched this month: Card captor Sakura, Survivor season 6 + 8, Kdrama called Come and Hug Me, and A Very Jonas Christmas Movie (super funny and unserious).
- As Christmas is approaching, I helped my parents and grabbed some groceries at Costco, Superstore, Bestco, etc. Every Christmas my family, brother's girlfriend, my sister's boyfriend and my older sister (who is married now) have a family dinner together.
- Spent the second last week of December reading—I finished reading Nia Sioux's Bottom of the Pyramid and Jeanette McCurdy's 2022 memoir I'm Glad My Mother Died. Nia's book inspired me that we are the star of our own lives and to stop comparing ourselves to others; her book also motivated me to continue to look for my own opportunities, work hard, and even though we are not on "top", it doesn't define our success and in fact being at the "bottom" allows us to find ways to improve ourselves. On the other hand, Jeanette McCurdy's book was a heavy one. It was heartbreaking and it was well-written since I felt like I was witnessing her story in real time.
- During my Christmas break, I was learning more about manifestations, such as scripting, the power of "I am" statements, etc. That said, I tried scripting for the first time since I've always loved to journal and write my thoughts down. I love being able to reflect and look back at what I wrote, which allows me to see how much I improved as a person. That said, during my break, I realized that I have been sleeping a lot more due to the impact of feeling burnt out; hence, I took naps during the day without feeling guilty.
- On Christmas, I spent the day reading, playing video games (Octopath Traveller 2), and I took a nap which felt rejuvenating. I had dinner with my family, and I am happy that I got to catch up with my older sister. We had tacos, pasta, pastry, and salad; I devoured the tacos. Later, we exchanged gifts—my favorite part was giving the gifts as I get to witness the joy of spreading happiness. Happiness was also spread by sharing our stories, jokes, and catching up with life as well. I spent the rest of the night watching old school Survivor and playing video games.
- For those who are interested, for 2025 I received the following: Fire Emblem Enagaged, black cardigan and fashion socks from Simon, Pochacco Lego set from Keepplay, Animal Crossing Lego set by Lego, and Book Nook puzzle set by Rolife.
- On boxing day, there was a snow storm in Toronto. It was snowing for a majority of the day and it was windy. I'm grateful that I stayed home and relaxed watching Survivor: The Amazon (Season 6).
