Year In Review | 2025

Hi friends!

As the year is coming to an end, I just wanted to take a few moments to reflect on everything that has happened this past year—the highs, lows, and moments that were memorable.

Without further ado, let's get started.

Lows:
  • My grandma passed away on May 17th.
  • Battling anxiety attacks.
  • Struggling with heartbreak and depression episodes.
  • Dealing with burnt outs and rejections from job hunting.
  • Feeling like I wasn't good enough at times.
  • Comparing myself to others.
How I overcame challenges/lows:
  • Working on my self concept.
  • Developing a better mindset.
  • Taking action and facing my fears.
  • Using affirmations (I am beautiful, I am enough, I am kind, etc).
Favorite book, movie, shows, food, and place:

  • Favorite place that I visited was a botanical garden park in Oakville—there were so many greenery, a beautiful lake by the rock side, and of course flowers. It was breathtaking.
  • Got into Australian survivor for the first time and loved AU vs the World—although the outcome was predictable, I enjoyed watching all of the players.
  • Sadly, I didn't read a lot of books (my goal was to read at least 20 books and I did not hit that goal 😅) this year, but a book that changed my mindset was Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins. Another book that I blew me away was I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jeanette McCurdy (finally got the time to read it; it was on my TBR list for years!); it was relatable in some ways (for example, the challenges of rewiring our minds to break away from limiting beliefs and falling back into our old patterns), but please search up trigger warnings before reading as this book touches on heavy subjects like parental abuse, eating disorders, etc.
  • Favorite things that I ate this year were homemade tacos, Fat Bastard's loaded nachos, pizza melt from Subway, trying Nanaimo bars for the first time, and Hong Kong milk tea.
  • Favorite video game that I played this year: Octopath Traveller 2
  • Favorite movie: Wicked For Good

Highlight of the year:

  • Eaton Centre
Being apart of my older sister's wedding—watching my sister's first dance, walking down the wedding hall, seeing my brother's speech to the bride and groom.
  • Seeing my aunt from Hong Kong for the first time—spending time with her by visiting the aquarium, walking around at Harbor Front, seeing the Niagara Falls and having family dinners.
  • Went on a solo date at the Eaton Centre (I'm usually a home body)—my favorite part was visiting the book store and seeing Tim Horton's pop up store.

Greatest accomplishment:

  • Got laid off in December 2024 and was struggling to find a job for the past two years and a half—felt super proud of myself when I scored a new job at the beginning of Feb 2025.
  • Published only 1 book this year, but still feeling proud of pushing myself forward.
Fun things I learned:
amigurumi whale
  • Diving deeper into manifestation & the law of attraction.
  • Learning manifestation techniques such as scripting.
  • Crocheting.
  • Completed little mini paintings using water color.
Favorite Quotes of the year:
  • "You are the creator of your own experience. All of your power is in your now."
  • "I am alive, that i survived, and that I have the power to create a legacy of my own."
  • "There is beauty and truth in this world, even if it's hidden among thoughtless violence."

Goals in 2026:

  • Continue to blog by posting once a week.
  • Grow my publishing business by producing 3 books.
  • Loving myself more and treating myself to more solo dates.

Well that's all! As 2025 is coming to an end, I wish everyone a safe and happy holidays (everyone is getting sick here, so please take care of yourselves)!

Before you go, feel free to share one memorable moment, goals or one of your greatest accomplishments you achieved in 2025.

And with that said, thank you for reading and see you all in 2026!
