January:

• Jan 1st: New Years! It is finally 2026! My family and I went to watch Avatar: Fire and Ash at the Pickering Cineplex location, which was my first time visiting this theater—I was impressed with the seating as it was big and comfy. After the movies, we had hotpot back at home. I also completed Rolife's BookNook: Sakura Wine Alley—you can read my review here.

• Work-life in the office was lively. There were a few new people joining the company and work was getting busier. Not to mention, I loved the challenge of learning new things. That being said, I've been feeling very popular at work since a lot of customers has been calling and responding back to me. 😭

• Things I watched this month: 2026 Critics Choice Awards, Golden Globes, Traitors US, H20 Just Add Water, 10 Things I Hate About You, Lovely Runner. 

• Super excited for Traitors US! Was a little disappointed with some of the traitors pick, as well as the boot order (was super excited to see Rob C + Ian play the game). Nevertheless, this season has been pretty good thus far. 

• Started to do some light running again—feeling super proud of myself for pushing through especially on days I wasn't feeling well!

• Completed Fire Emblem Engaged.

• The weather in Canada was starting to get snowy, windy and cold. On Jan 15th, we had our very first snowstorm—schools and universities shut down—feeling super grateful that I got to work from home on these days. 

• Received the news that my aunt from Hong Kong has passed away. 

• Took my dad to the Toronto Person airport as he flies back to Hong Kong for two weeks. 

• Motto for the year: Detatchment & Self Concept
