Monthly Review | Missing Dad, Celebrations, Chinese New Years | February 2026

Toronto Pearson Airport   Chinese New Year Dinner   Hong Kong Snacks

February:

  • Feb 2nd: Even though my dad went back to HK for two weeks, we celebrated my parents' wedding anniversary with Turtle chocolates (my mom's favorite) and homemade food.
  • Work in the office was filled with celebrations. For one, more than half of my team had birthdays this month. I also celebrated my 1 year anniversary at work as well. ✨
  • Feeling grateful lately as the evenings are getting brighter. When I go home from work, I get to inhale how breathtaking the sunset is as well as feeling the stars illuminate their beauty.
  •  Feb 6th: It's the Winter Olympics in Milano! Usually, I am super excited for the figure skating events, but surprisingly, I was heavily invested in curling this year. Super happy that the men's curling team has won gold!
  • Feb 14th: Valentine's Day! I got my mom her favorite doughnut (honey cruller) and I am so happy to see her smile filled with joy.
  • Feb 15th: Super excited to see my dad! It was my first time taking the Go Bus to the Toronto Pearson Airport. Nevertheless, I picked my dad up from the airport and caught up with him about his adventures in HK.
  • Feb 17th: Chinese New Years! Had family dinner—feeling super grateful for homemade food as well as rice cakes.
  • Feb 21st: Went to the temple to give my blessings. Had dim sum with my family and saw a lion dance show.
  • Things I tried this month: Walker's Cheese and Onion flavored chips (you can also grab them at the local grocery store since Lay's has released this flavored as well)—tasted like sour cream and onion.
  • Things I watched this month: 2026 Grammy Awards, Tangled the Series, Would You Marry Me?, Survivor US, 2026 Winter Olympics, Even If This Love Disappears Tonight
